“I believe that it is very important to give back to the community you live in and to help others” – Christopher Mitchell
Lunch Buddy Chris
Once a week during the school year you can find me having lunch at a local school with my lunch buddy.
My lunch buddy and I have been having lunch together since 2011. Over the years I have not only been a mentor to my lunch buddy but we have developed a friendship that I hope will last long past this graduation from high school.
Freeman ICU Volunteer
Every Friday, you won’t find me in my home office, instead you can find me working at the window at Freeman Health System’s Intensive Care Unit.
I answer the phones, check visitors into the unit and do anything else (non-medical) that is asked of me to help visitors to our unit feel at ease.
I Have volunteered in the ICU since 2012 and have earned several awards for my work including Missouri Association of Hospital Auxiliaries 2015 Auxiarian of the Year and The Joplin Regional Business Journal Salute to Health Care 2016 Volunteer of the Year.
